broken

so last night we were ice skating here in Dijon and me being me, falls on my ass but only first fell on my hand (as Curtis said he just saw my feet fly up in front of me) and after 4 hours in a French hospital where no one spook English I found out I have a broken wrist and have to be in a cast for the next 6 weeks. Please just pray for me that this is the last part of this so far sort of bad trip! I miss you everyone and should soon have pictures--without and with the cast!

im now learning everything left handed and one handed...so my computer and typing skills aren't the best...

Valentines Day in Dijon

So classes have started. I have an oral class, grammer/vocab, grammer/verbs, geography and a "civilization"/culture class. It just very different trying to understand what the teachers say sometime and I've gotten very frustrated lately. But it has finally stopped raining after about 3 days of rain with no sun, the sun came out today!!

I am getting over being sick, which is really hard b/c I didn't have any meds on me and its hard to get medicine here. I did get something that helped my sore throat alot.

So the Residence is a very interesting place. I have met tons of people from all over the world, and its great b/c most speak English. We have all hung out in the dorms and have gone out once and a while. The meals are ok, I have missed breakfast a couple of times, and dinner we never know what to expect. We did find a great burger place on campus that is very cheap and gives lots of food.

So for Valentines Day, after a long day of class and walking everywhere in the rain, we all got dressed up and went to this salsa bar/club. It was alot of fun, and when there is 15-20 students there its fun b/c you can dance with everyone. Speaking of dancing, the French aren't the greatest dancers so its fun for us b/c we don't look that stupid.

I have been trying to check my email daily, since now getting to campus is easier and I'm here 5 days a week, and the computer labs are free. I'm working on getting my pictures up, it may take awhile, but I am taking lots of them.

Even though I do not like it here sometimes, as those who I have talked to, this place will make me a better person. I know I have to stay here, and yes it may be difficult sometimes, but at least I know that I'm not the only one in the same boat, and I have lots of people who want me here.

I miss everyone so much! As I looked up, as of today I only have 77 more days here, which I know will start to go by faster. We have 2 excursions coming up, one is a one day and the other is a weekend trip. My French is starting to get a little better, its just hard to talk to anyone when you dont have much of a voice and you sound like a man!

Love y'all!! I miss everyone back in Murray too!!

P.S. Being as sick as I have been and just walking out in the cold, I really should take stock in Kleenex!!

sick

so i made it through my first week/weekend in Dijon. I'm now sick and just want to rest and that. We went to l'atmosphere (a club)...it was so much fun. We left our dorm at 12am and got home at 4am haha...I found out that I'm in level 2 which is really good b/c thats what i should be in, and I'm still getting credit for 202, 310, 323, and 324 back home. Classes start tomorrow, dont' have too bad of a schedule.

I believe we are going to Switzerland this coming weekend. It should be alot of fun...less than 3 months till i come home...

so yeah classes, we only have 2 months of class then 2 weeks for spring break then we leave...how nice is that!

well i'm going to go wash more clothes (in my sink)...ive taken a washer and dryer for granted!!

Dijon

well I arrived in Dijon 2 nights ago. I ended up getting stuck at the train station Gare de Lyon for 7 hours!! miscommunication, but i got there around 10pm met up with Jackie, Eden, and Jessica and unpacked. Yesturday we took the test and went to IKEA to get some more stuff needed for our rooms and then got lost on the bus home, but finally made it back for dinner. After dinner we got ready and went to Le Lyautey and had 6 bottles of wine for only 5 euros each, plus they gave us free shots. it was fun, maybe too much fun...

this morning we went to beaune to visit this medevial hosptial. it was fun but cold, we also got to wander around but ended up getting bored...finally we got back to the Residence and just chilled before dinner...im starting to try more foods...its becoming everyones goal for me to drink wine and eat any type of food before i leave.

but we're getting ready to go back out to the bar again...not so much to drink tonight...

I'm here!!

Bonjour! So I arrived in Paris yesturday morning around 9:40am (Paris time) and after about 3 hours I finally got to the hotel and met up with Jackie, Eden and Jessica. They wouldn't let me sleep even though my jet lag was bad. We went to the Louvre and shopping. Paris is so different then what I thought it would be. Today Jackie and I slept in and went to the Effiel Tower and Notre Dame. I haven't taken too many pictures, but of course I love taking them. Tonight we are going to Moulin Rouge. I finally had a good meal today for lunch at this pasta place. The sauce was alot different then at home. Yesturday we got fries from McDonalds, they tasted funny. So does the Coke, but I'm getting use to it. Well tomorrow we are taking a train down to Dijon, so I hope to update sometime later this week. Miss everyone!! Au revoir!
